3DS Super Mario Maker help

My 6 year old son has been playing Mario maker on the 3ds for a couple of months but hasn’t had any new building items since he first started playing it. He’s tried using all his items to make a level and shaking all items but nothings arriving. What do we need to do to get all the items? Thank you!

Hi @Jakeyjake. I don't have the 3ds version but from what i read he needs to beat every level on the Mario challenge. Should be 19 from what i gather. Good luck, a lot of people said a few of the levels are kinda hard/aggravating.
