Is Mario a Science Fiction or a Fantasy

It's fantasy, even though some of its games have science fiction elements. For instance, in nearly every game, you rescue a princess from a castle and eat mushrooms as a powerup to grow bigger but also mushrooms are talking characters also. That's fantasy. Even though Mario Galaxy and Mario Sunshine, Lugi's Mansion, etc. has some scifi elements the series is mainly fantasy.

depends on the game mostly fantasy but some sci fi in it.

I would say Mario is much more fantasy than sci-fi.
